Arm & Hammer: Reunited and it Feels So Good

The update we all have been waiting for, the car trip back from D.C. Picture this: you’re reclined in the back of a Jeep Cherokee, at peace with the knowledge that next to you in a Trader Joe’s bag lies a chocolate sheet cake (and two forks), sour cream and onion cheese puffs (better than they sound), cheese sandwich crackers, and a leftover burrito bowl from earlier. #Bliss

Road trips always give you time to think, and think I have. Some questions I have for my readers and the world in general: Why are the doors in tunnels so narrow? Who can fit through them? How is it practical??

I tried to take a picture, but the shutter speed was not high enough (#SheKnowsHerStuff), so I had to take a screenshot of a slowmo video, which didn’t really work either. #YouGetTheIdea.

More questions…. How can people even drive the 60ft long trucks???? Is the back not completely uncontrollable? (Anna’s question) How does traffic work when there’s no accidents??? Why??

I’m in a good mood because I reset my cellular data statistics, so basically I’ve used none (That’s how it works).

I do want to get my drivers license (tasks for 2023).

Going to try to tackle packing today, we will see how it goes.

And she has arrived. It’s currently 10:52, packing is not going to happen. I was presented with the choice between laying in bed and trying to psych myself up enough to start, or watch the new PLL OriginAl Sins episodes, all I have to say. Spilled my waterbottle on the rug, but I’m not letting it keep me down. Excited to brush my teeth tonight.

Harry Potter

As a Pirates of the Caribbean girl, I’ve treated the books and movies of Harry Potter like I’ve treated Hamilton, with a downturned eye. But, much to my own dismay, I’m halfway through Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and I’m having a great time reading it.

(Edit: Turns out, I’m not halfway. 200/730 🫤). It’s okay, just means more Harry Potter time.

What else is new? I’ve been discovering how many fans I have… You know what they say, imitation is flattery. Doesn’t make it sting any less.

Today is the end of our D.C. adventures, which means packing. Yummy!! I don’t have any pictures to bring to college which I feel like is kind of weird but I also don’t care enough to print stuff out. Was discussing this with Lola (#ShoutOutSunday): not sure if I should bring the film rolls I took this summer to Canada and develop them there, or hope my dad does it for me and sends me the digitals. A real “Sophie’s Choice”.

If you’ve stayed up to date on my cheesecake struggles, (Big Part Of My Life Recently) I kind of want to make it again in LI. Who knows 🥱.

Also, I’m finally the woman I’ve dreamed of being for years. I don’t want to jinx myself, but the transition from over-packer to underpacker has been made. The past few times I’ve gone away, I’ve used every single thing in my bag at least once. This is 2020, this is real, this is woman.

I am excited to go back to LI. Hopefully it’s a very chill weekend. My goals 🙏 are to have a wake up, make breakfast, swim, see breezy people, eat lunch, light social interaction, dinner, swim, repeat routine. I want to finish Harry Potter and then read Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. (Thank You Georgia: #GoodwillFinds)
