Cracking Open a bag of twin snakes, the blogging begins.

Are you ready?

Recently, I was thinking back on an old blog post I made. This one, I wrote in the car to Montreal right before moving in. In it, I questioned the background of these twin snakes.

I wondered, is one actually sweet and one sour? Or is it a marketing scheme? I’m not sure if I ever answered that on the blog but after trying out on a test audience, Lola and Georgia, I determined one actually was sour.

I probably could’ve figured this out on my own, seeing as it now that I’m eating them, the answer seems clear, but I just don’t think I was quite ready for the truth.

I knew I had to look closer.

Honestly, prepare yourself for this one. You might want to sit down.  It’s deep. While eating these twin snakes, I began to think about how the snake in and itself was kind of a metaphor. The sour and sweet are better together: you can’t have one without the other. Sometimes I even shock myself with what I can come up with. As John Legend says, "Wow."

To be real, in this case I could have the sour ones with out the sweet, but I’m gonna pretend like this isn’t true. Speaking of metaphors, yesterday on the mountain I saw rock in a cage…. so deep….

Again, speaking of deep quotes, I saw this on a desk when waiting for my second class of they day. It really makes you think, wow, life really is more than a cliche, huh? Powerful.

Almost choked on twin snake - and then spent thirty seconds trying to remember how to spell choked.

I have been fully convinced that there was a grape flavor, turns out it’s just cherry. Why is the cherry purple? No idea.

In other news, I finished Fate: the Winx Saga today. The CGI was so bad my mom could do it better. (In this case, the saying is probably true, because she’s an editor) (but even still). I would say I completely guessed the ending, but realistically, that’s not true. I did guess, however, one of the first major reveals.

Fate setup while cooking for the week

What else is up next on the agenda? To keep it real, dinner at BMH. But, if you’re looking at the broader spectrum of things, Saturday is Friendsgiving. What is she bringing to the table, you might ask? Cranberry sauce and cucumber salad. Hopefully I body yet.

Not to be cocky, but based on my last meal planning week, I’m gonna kill it. Lola and I made beans, rice, and sweet potatoes. Not only do they all go hard (except for the rice, which in this case was soft - we fucked up and it was a little over cooked) but they are so versatile, going from rice bowl to nachos to quesadillas to more.

Peace.

I’ve been known to keep up a cool demeanor among my fans, but I will be honest. I was nervous at first, knowing the whole floor would end up smelling like the contents of oven. Still, my first time cooking in the dorms was a success.

To tell this story, I need to start from the beginning. I was born on a sunny day in October…

Flash forward!! (A couple of weeks later)

09/19/22: Segal’s market

At my favorite grocery store, I was overcome with the feeling of being taken over by some divine being. Navigating the busy aisles like a pro, locating all of my ingredients in record time, and sourcing the best deals, I was in and out before I knew it.

Unfortunately, this so called ‘divine being’ left me on my lonesome when it was time to pay and shove everything into my backpack. The jig was up, forcing me to spend a couple minutes struggling with the Tetris puzzle that was putting things in the correct spot. I struggled, big time. No matter what I did, everything would just not fit.

Thankfully, I had a moment of clarity and remembered I packed a grocery bag on top of my backpack. Eventually, what felt like hours later (but was likely thirty seconds), I figured it out.

Then, off to the dollarama. I was equally nervous to make this pit stop, as the last time I went to this dollarama location I couldn’t figure out how to exit without going through checkout so I bought pickle chips in a frenzy. (No regrets - further discussed in my previous post).

Thankfully, they have everything I needed, and I was ready to head up the hill, fog and all.

A couple of days later, it was time to cook.

#ShoutOutSunday to Charlotte, for lending me a cutting board, knife, casserole dish, pot, and lid. Bless up. 🤘

There’s really not much to say about this, except to say I killed it. (That’s why my nickname’s Humble: the more you know). I stood my ground in the kitchen like an absolute boss.

The pasta I made goes so hard - thankfully, because it’s my lunch for the next few days - and #MissionImpossible, I got the job done running into limited people.

Now, done with cooking, and feeling deeply satisfied, I’ve decided to push all my schoolwork off until tomorrow.

Peace!!!

#GroceryShopped today. Was a slamming success. Wicked Smaht, as my ancestors (Grandparents) say (they don't say it - but their townspeople - Bostonians - do). My walk was filled with bike drama. (Two incidents).

First off, I came across this lonely wheel. I couldn't help but feel for her, sitting all by herself on the scorching cement.

Then, I saw this girly. (I say then, but this happened before the first picture... don't tell). I took a picture because the basket color matched the bike, but looking back on it it, does it match??? Having a hard time piecing this one together. It matches enough.

My weekly groceries came out to $20.17 (Canadian dollars 😈), so I had a pep in my step as I decided to get ice cream. It was perfect timing, as the ice cream store was basically next door, and I had nothing that needed to go immediately in the fridge.

As per usual, my card was hidden in the depths of my bag, coexisting among the 'Regulars', or the things that haven't yet broken their months long streak of resting at the bottom of my backpack.

I spent a good three minutes digging around for it before ordering, sweaty and frazzled.

Before I had the chance to solve the mystery of where she (the card) ended up, the guy working there held up a filled out "punch 9 and get one free" card and asked if I wanted it.

Duh!!!!!!!

He did me right, hitting me with the double scoop and all. What a king. (Sorry Brits and Canadians - didn't mean to bring it up. Very insensitive of me).

OH!! And... the Shawarma guy at BMH, my man Darren, called me one of his most loyal customers. Had me blushing... I know he says that to all the girlies, but it was still meaningful to hear the words come out of his mouth.

Xoxo
